Poem: The Rainbow's End

Photo by Rita Bourland © 2011

The Rainbow’s End
I ran for hours across fields and paths
strewn with rocks and twigs,
intent on finding the end of the rainbow,

reaching the crest of a ridge
I was lifted on a glorious song,

I heard the music of peace,
I felt the presence of God,
I saw truth swirling
in bursts of color,

I savored the essence of love,
I smelled the earth as it rose
up to touch the heavens,
where all things joined
in a perfect moment,
a rainbow moment,

a fleeting reminder
of all things powerful and pure.

  2. Thank you so much. Rainbows are incredibly magical. I often wonder how many writers have pondered their mystery in their prose.
